This is where I design and make stuff.

It is a space that was put together out of trash, barter, and learning. I mostly use it to figure out more effective ways of making life happen as an innovative eccentric navigating our society’s progression into otherness as a result of economic and ecological (ahem) restructuring.

This is a window into my little scene.

I’ve made my life in the cracks between the world.

Most of my time is spent attempting to meet my fundamental human needs – such as for adequate levels of subsistence and protection. I am rarely successful in these attempts. This is largely due to chronic migraine and cluster headaches that have me writhing in pain much of the time.

I use literary and artistic expression as a place to safely interact with the challenges implied by this. It is my hope to someday translate the products of this activity into an income that allows my fundamental human needs to be adequately met on a consistent basis.

To survive and generally be okay in this society, I’ve had to figure out all sorts of things about food, people, consciousness, materials, and technology. In lieu of affordable education, I’ve learned to document and translate some of this into various forms and formats that I have professionally evaluated when the need to demonstrate competence in a given area proves a barrier to exploration of a given desirable opportunity.

As part of my contribution towards a more resilient, equitable, and beautiful society, I make many of the products of these efforts are available free of charge.

Other of the products so derived are available for a small fee, as are certain consulting and other services I offer on a limited basis to select clients. This is representative of my belief that microbusiness development – particularly through technological coordination of diversified entrepreneurial efforts constrained by hostile market conditions – provides an accessible means of investigating synergy-based economic strategies. Because synergy is the only ethical generator of profit in business at this historic juncture.

In order to sort bits of meaning and interconnection from the otherwise incoherent and often nonsensical experience of being a human in a psychosocial context built for robots, I make stuff. In doing so, I attempt to express the mythic timelessness and potent beauty of this new era. My opinion is that these are too often overlooked amidst the challenges that our society’s out-of-balance way of doing things has installed in our life-contexts.

The stuff I make is all unique. And very real. This reflects that I experience life on this planet as ideally suited to cultivate realness and uniqueness.

Everything I do requires excessive amounts of care, patience, and attention. This reflects that I experience our psychosocial context as having failed to cultivate care, patience, and attention within and amongst us.

The ways I am able to communicate these and other concepts that I believe to be meaningful are constrained by circumstance to small things. Words. Images. Objects. Perspectives. I like to think of it as food for the whole self growing like these onion shoots from all of whatever it was that came before.

My first real experimental publishing project was putting out a book I wrote about cooperative spirituality in the context of an incoherent society, and is titled “Neomythic Alchemy: a no bullsh_t approach to everyday spiritual balance.” (available for free in pdf format here).

I wrote this mostly to prove to myself that I could actually do something like write a book.

My current writing project is a bit more ambitious, and has to do with technology.

Fixing Broken Robots is the title of what this writing has become. It focuses on the way that our relationship with technology is driving some profound changes in our world, what that might mean for the future, where that might be challenging, and how to use these challenges in service to making desirable futures more accessible. If you’re interested, you can check it out for yourself by clicking here.
